Giving and the Law of Attraction go hand in hand. However, you must give without the expectation of any type of reward. You give from your heart, not your head. When you give to get, you block positive results.
In just about any article you read on the Law of Attraction, you will come across the idea that "you must first give in order to receive."
Leave 1 Dollar is a perfect example of creating a financial vibration when you anonymously bless a stranger by leaving a dollar bill partially hidden in a public place.
However, with my strategy, even though you know how the laws of the Universe work...and how God directs you to reap what you sow...the focus is on being a financial blessing to others, NOT getting a windfall in return.
Linda Evans (46) is a couples counselor who attends Unity Church Of Sedona. She said, "I have been following the Leave 1 Dollar program for a year now, and it has made a tremendous difference in my life. Both in my outlook, as well as my finances.
Last year, I watched the old 2006 movie, The Secret. It made a great deal of sense to me. I could see how I needed to extend myself in a more spiritual way where my finances were involved.
I started doing very small things, like blessing the bills I paid, and being thankful for products I would find on sale.
When I started leaving dollar bills with prayers in them, I said a quick blessing for whoever found it that day.
All through the day, whenever I would think of money, I thanked God for my profession, the $800 I had in my checking account, and the $20 bill I had in my purse.
I did not have much, but I was sincerely grateful for what I had.
Whenever I thought about the little rolled up dollar I had left, I thanked God that the right person found it and was experiencing so level of newfound happiness that day.
At the same time, I started taking chances in my practice. I published two articles online, which caught the eye of some Unity members in other states. I was invited to both Montana and Oregon to present two-day workshops, based on my articles.
For these, I was paid $1500 each, PLUS airfare, PLUS a food stipend, PLUS resort hotel accommodations.
While traveling and also in each city, I continued to roll up little $1 dollar bills, and stash them everywhere.
At each of those workshops, people came up to introduce themselves, and ask if I could speak at their company, or at a workshop they themselves were putting on.
I came away from each workshop with over $10,000 in advance bookings. It literally took my breath away to think I just added $20K to my bottomline.
When I got back to Sedona, I worked even harder to make my presentations more unique. I joined a Toastmasters Club in down in Scottsdale to perfect my delivery, and I did my best to create original material for my attendees.
The key to The Secret is the action you take.
I continue to put those little dollar bills at bus stops and in the baby section of grocery stores, and I continue to tell God how truly blessed I am to be able to do it."
Give From Your Heart - Not Your Head
When you give from your heart, you give with a generous and unselfish spirit. You give because you want to uplift another person.
It doesn't even have to be money. If prayer is the most powerful force on the planet, then words run a close second. All through the day, God will put people in front of you who need a smile, a word of kindness or appreciation. They will need support, encouragement, and validation. Your words will have even more impact than any money you could give them.
When I leave a dollar in a public place, I do it so that whoever is guided to it will be surprised and uplifted. It is a way to help prosper them, both financially and spiritually.
Joni Antunes (43) a photographer and blogger from Sun Valley ID.
She said, "I first started the Leave 1 Dollar program, I was working as a waitress in a little dinner in Arco ID. I barely made enough to have a little extra to spend.
I didn't have a car. I didn't have many clothes. I didn't even have a boyfriend.
On the first Monday of each month, I would go to the bank and get a roll of brand new dimes. They were shiny and had just been minted!
It cost me $5 dollars, and I could leave about two each day on chair arms, windowsills, and newspaper boxes on my daily walks.
It gave me such a wonderful feeling. I would bless each one, and thank God that I could bring a little surprise of happiness to someone I would never meet.
After about four months, things started getting real different. I began getting larger tips at the diner. I continually gave thanks throughout the day. My take home had increased $125 per month!
I now started purchasing two rolls of new quarters at the bank, and leaving them in new places all around Arco. It was such an incredible feeling. I had tripled my giving!
Along about that time, I became friends with another girl who started coming into the diner. Shellie worked two jobs. One at the Circle-K, and one cleaning motorhomes on weekends.
She was also a firm believer in God's goodness, the power of the Universe to guide us, and giving and the Law Of Attraction. We hit off very easily.
She said she was inheriting two small condos in Sun Valley, plus a small clothing store from her favorite aunt who had passed away.
Shellie was scared about moving there all alone, and knew nothing about running a business. She said the two condos were really rundown.
We'd been doing inexpensive stuff together, like hiking, horseback riding, going to the $3 dollar movies, and treating ourselves to a dinner out once a month. She asked me if I would take a chance and help her.
She said I could live in one of the condos for free if I helped her at the store, and in repainting and fixing up the two small units.
Shellie said the store did okay, and she could pay me $300 more a month than I was now making!
I had always heard how beautiful it was in Sun Valley, and I was so thankful to God for this financial and relocation opportunity. When I said, "Yes' she was so excited and grateful.
We got along terrifically. I let Shellie know this was her show, and I was just there to help her make a dream come true. She had the most gentle spirit and insisted we were partners.
We loaded up her 17-year old Ford Ranger pickup with our scant possessions, hugged, and started our great adventure.
When we got to Sun Valley, we were overcome with the beauty of the scenery. The two condos just needed some intense cleaning, and repainting to lighten up the rooms. No major, expensive repairs, thank goodness.
The store was cute, and got good traffic...but something was missing.
We were ecstatic.
Once in Sun Valley, I started leaving dollar bills with prayers inside, at bus stops, the library, and around some apartments. Shellie had embraced this idea (with dimes and quarters) back in Arco, and she upped her giving with much happiness.
Two things happened that shot Shellie and I way ahead financially. First, we decided to gradually change the store to a 'vintage clothing shop' (and served herbal tea!)
Secondly, a friend of her aunt's gave me a little Canon point-and-shoot digital camera.
For the next two years, we poured our hearts into making our shop a place to relax and feel uplifted. We also deep-cleaned, repainted, and re-carpeted the two small condos.
We also made it a point to give thanks everyday for the Universe leading us to a wonderful friendship, financial increase, and more happiness than we could have ever expected.
Sales at the shop went bananas! Shellie kept upping my pay until I was making $2500 more per month than I made at the diner!
My savings account was swelling. We both started reading about investing, opened accounts online with Charles Schwab, and bought index funds.
I was also getting real good with that little camera, and started selling framed landscape prints in the shop.
Now, 20 years later, Shellie and I are semi-retired. We sold the little store and made a great profit. We both got married to really nice guys who totally support our new businesses.
Shellie moved to Jackson Hole WY, and now she and her husband run a little coffee house that also sells high-end vintage clothing. I have a photography business and also an online business.
We talk or text most days. We both continue to leave several dollar bills around town each day. Now, though, they are $5 dollar bills!
We've both come a long way in our relationship with God. We both are grateful for the Universe showing us how giving and the Law Of Attraction are so beautifully intertwined."
I love hearing stories like Joni's. She is an inspirational friend. She took a chance that God would hold her and Shellie in the palm of his hand when they were starting out with only Hope.
Even though they did not make much the first 6-8 months, they continued to give thanks for what they had, and what was coming in the future.
They never wavered in their belief that giving and the Law Of Attraction were a universal partnership.
What matters to God and the Universe is that you have enough faith in your true source of money, that you demonstrate this by giving some away. I look forward to the day when I can do this with $10 or $20 dollar bills.
I can only imagine how great it would feel to leave a $100 dollar bill each day. This is what I am working toward.
When you give from your head, meaning you are focused and thinking about the riches you will reap when God tallies up all the credits and debits...you blunt the flow of wealth back to you.
Whenever I get in my head, I feel manipulative, controlling, and completely apart from the goodness of the Universe. It is sterile and unsettling.
When you are giving from your head, you start daydreaming about the riches coming to you...and completely ignore the heartfelt vibrations needed to engage the flow of Love in the Universe.
When you continually wonder when your riches will begin coming, you will find yourself frustrated, anxious, and irritable. This is why so many people throw up their hands, and say the Law of Attraction doesn't work.
God has a timetable when he will deliver financial wealth to you, and it will occur at the instant you become selfless and unconcerned when it will get there.
Ever since Rhonda Byrne created The Secret, many of the subsequent articles, books, and tapes on the Law of Attraction focused intently on getting more...getting it now...getting it all.
Sadly, when you give to get, you wind up frustrated, lonely, and less than wealthy.
Give from your heart, without concern of the outcome. God has it all under control. The Universe will balance giving and the Law Of Attraction.
Those who give, without any intent other than enriching the lives of others, find their lives flow with far more positive circumstances than those who give only to get.
As a matter of fact, Harvard Business School did a study on giving, and they found those who gave money to others felt far better than if they had spent it on themselves.
Everyday, look for something you can give unselfishly to others. It doesn't have to be a dollar, it can be a dime that you leave. It does NOT even have to be money. You can be very generous with your time, your words, and your prayers.
Giving and the Law Of Attraction go hand-in-hand.
